Selznicks Leave Italy

Rome, April 6 - Jennifer Jones, film actress, and her husband, David O. Selznick, Hollywood producer, unexpectedly left here tonight by air for New York.
Mr. Selznick is making a film version in Italy of Ernest Hemingway's World War I novel 'A Farewell To Arms." Miss Jones is to play the part of the English nurse.
Few persons recognized Miss Jones when she arrived at Ciampino Airport near here tonight, a half hour before the departure of the airliner in which she and her husband are flying to New York. She is reported to have looked tense and tearful.
The Selznicks arrived here earlier today from Misurina, in the Italian Dolomites, where shooting of outdoor scenes started two weeks ago. It was announced tonight that filming would proceed according to schedule despite the sudden departure of the Selznicks, which said to result from family reason.
